New rules of invoicing in Poland since January 1st 2013
The Ministry of finances wants to change radically the terms of issuing VAT invoices. Taxpayers would have a lot more time to raise the invoice. Every day, millions of companies issue VAT invoices. Today, as a rule, a taxpayer must issue an invoice within seven days from the date of delivery of the goods or performance of services.
From January 1st 2013 it will change. Amendment of the periods the VAT invoice can be issued experts estimate well because it will give taxpayers more time and more flexibility in a way of documenting the transactions.
It’s a good change, especially as because in the VAT Act will be introduced the general principle limiting the possibility of retroactive invoices issuance. After the change in principle the invoices can not be issued earlier than 30 days prior to the delivery of the goods or performance of services. Currently, the retroactive time limit applies only to a few cases.
